This website provides public information about the SalinityScan project which aims at developing a subsea sampling and analysis system capable of monitoring the salinity of produced water. The project was initiated by the coordinating SME, Tool-Tech AS, and is financed by the funding scheme "Research for the benefit of SMEs" within the EU 7th Framework Programme.
Start date of the project was 1st January 2011, and project duration is 24 months.
Project Description
SalinityScan will focus on developing a subsea sampling and analysis system capable of monitoring the salinity of the water fraction in the multiphase flow from oil and gas wells. Enabling sampling of the salinity will increase the accuracy in subsea flow measurements and consequently improve well management.
